120 PP bags per minute

BSW Machinery, the Austrian subsidiary of Windmöller & Hölscher, broke its own previous production record of cross bottom valve sacks made of woven PP. The first converTex for production of 120 sacks per minute was delivered to Sadico in Vietnam.

This machine is now in operation for one year and in the meantime several lines have been shipped to customers around the world.

D&W Fine Pack invests USD 20 million

D&W Fine Pack LLC is investing USD 20 million into expanding the company’s thermoformed packaging manufacturing site in South Carolina. The company indicated the project has already started and is expected to create an additional 60 jobs during the next five years.

D&W Fine Pack is ranked as the third largest thermoforming company by a Plastics News ranking of the industry, behind Dart Container Corp. and Pactiv LLC, with an estimated USD 500 million in sales.

New solution for circular weaving

Starlinger’s FX 10.0 launched a new solution in heavy-duty tape fabric production, wiht 10 shuttles, high operating speed combined with low energy consumption.“The FX 10.0 made a big impression at the exhibition, especially on FIBC and other heavy-duty fabric producers”, said Hermann Adrigan, Sales Director at Starlinger & Co. GmbH. “We opted for a 10-shuttle construction because the fabric production process is faster and smoother. We also used special materials for the elements in contact with the tapes so they run as smoothly and gently as possible.

Clondalkin Kirchberg invests in additional die cutting capacity

Clondalkin Group invests further in their Swiss subsidiary Clondalkin Kirchberg. On the 13th of October a new die cutting machine was installed and commissioned at the facility in Kirchberg (BE), Switzerland.

The new Berhalter machine, which is also Swiss made, expands the die cutting capacity of Clondalkin Kirchberg. The investment is made because of the growing demand for die cut lids at Clondalkin Kirchberg.

Mondi extends pouch making capabilities to three continents

Mondi Group has signed an agreement for the acquisition of 95% of the outstanding share capital in KSP, Co. and related interests. Established in 1973, KSP is a flexible packaging company specialised in the production of high-quality spouted and retort stand-up pouches for the food, pet food and beverage industries with its main manufacturing site near Seoul, South Korea and an interest in a plant near Bangkok, Thailand. KSP exports approximately two thirds of its production, mainly to the US, Europe and other Asian countries.
