Soma launches new wide web Optima press
Soma will launch a wide web version of its successful OPTIMA, short run CI flexographic printing press at DRUPA 2016. Twice daily the company will demonstrate the versatility of its OPTIMA mid web model as well as debut its OPTIMA2 wider web version featuring five unique solutions for flexography including its Advanced Bounce Control technology.
Launched in 2013 and new to the international DRUPA audience, the Optima offers a flexible design in flexographic printing presses optimised to run both label stock paper and film packaging materials. Available in 620 and 820 mm widths in up to eight colours, the Optima is capable of speeds up to 300mt/min and features unwind and rewind systems that are located outside the printing unit modules. This variable design allows the option of choosing any unwind/rewind configuration and in-line upstream or downstream printing and converting units such as cold seal or slitting. The press bridges the gap between narrow and wide web printing for products such as in-mould and wrap around labels, shrink sleeves, retort pouches and sachets as well as paper sacks, cups and plates.
The OPTIMA2 with its five unique solutions for the flexographic printing will be revealed during DRUPA and will be available to order in 1050 mm and 1270 mm web widths and speed up to 500 m/min. Discover the Advanced Bounce Control system developed by SOMA and see how the most difficult designs can be printed at optimum speeds. Demonstrations during the show will provide a not to be missed opportunity to see this new technology in action.
