Amcor spends USD 435 mio in South American

The worlds largest packaging producers has expanded its footstep in South America by the acquisition of a major local player, Alusa. The purchase price of USD 435 million represents 8.5 times Profit Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization (PBITDA). Alusa – which includes Alusa (Chile), Peruplast (Peru), Aluflex (Argentina) and Flexa (Colombia) – is owned by Techpack S.A. and Nexus Private Equity.

Amcor, Constantia, Huhtamaki, Ampac etc receive awards

Alufoil, the European Aluminium Foil Association has held its annual awards competition. This year is no exception with 65 entries across the five major categories producing 10 outstanding winners, plus an Overall Excellence winner, which scored extremely high marks in all categories.

Amcor grows by 6+%

The packaging giant's flexibles segment reports a good half year with adjusted constanct currency PBIT (profits before interests and taxes) up 6.1%, This increase is mostly due to higher demand in the tobacco business.

The EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) business is mainly producing for snacks, confectionery, cheese, yoghurt, fresh produce, beverages, pet food, etc reports sales and earnings to be higher than in the prior year, especially in Eastern Europe.

Amcor acquired Chinese competitor

Amcor announced an agreement to acquire BPI China, the Chinese subsidiary of UK based British Polythene Industries PLC for USD 13 million.

BPI China has one plant located in Xinhui, South China, with state-of-the-art blown film and flexographic printing lines. The business produces flexible packaging products for export and domestic customers.

Amcor acquired competitor

Amcor announced the acquisition of Deluxe Packages, a privately owned flexible packaging business for USD 45 million. The acquired business will form part of Amcor's newly-formed Flexibles Americas business group.
Deluxe operates one well-invested manufacturing plant with attractive technologies, capabilities and highly skilled co-workers in Yuba City, in Northern California. The business generates revenues of approximately USD 42 million providing high-performance flexible packaging products to customers in the fresh food and snack segments.
