Siegwerk goes digital

Siegwerk is now offering digital printing inks for labels and soon for packaging applications. The company has extended its research and development capabilities and has built a dedicated inkjet laboratory at its Technical Center in Annemasse (France). Siegwerk’s expert team is driving the development of inkjet inks that meet printing process requirements and address the specific challenges of the labels and packaging segments.

Record breaking digitally printed pouch

UNI Packaging claims to have broke all lead-time records for pouch manufacture and supply to olive packer Olives Et Al who required 400 pouch samples made up of 8 designs for an exhibition. The printer received the samples request and took receipt of supporting artwork on a Friday, delivery was required a week later. Thanks to their digital printign press,the company was able to deliver the samples in time.

Flint acquires Xeikon

The Flint Group has announced the launch of a digital printing division, and the acquisition of Xeikon. 

Xeikon, designs, develops and delivers digital printing presses (and consumables) for the global packaging, label, commercial and document market segments. Xeikon’s products and services will be the base of a new division called Flint Group Digital Printing Solutions.

Gravure printer goes digital

Germany based packaging producer Allflex Folienveredlung has installed its first HP Indigo 20000 digital printing press. The subsidiary of Bagel Packaging reacts on the increasing demand of short runs, which they previously printed in gravure. The press is 30" wide and able to print up to seven colours. 

Back in 2009, Allflex has purchased a HB Indigo WS 4500.
