Comexi F2 MB for Indian printer

Kolkata based Creative Polypack has reached an agreement for a Comexi F2 MB flexographic press. Binod Maheswari, chief officer at Creative Polypack : "The Indian market is now ready for moving more and more to the flexo direction, and this combination with their existing services and infrastructure has made it a perfect fit in our growth plans."

Comexi has designed the F2 MB to satisfy the print needs of medium runs in the flexible packaging sector for the retail and wholesale channel.

India's first direct laser engraving machine installed

Image Gravures claims to have installed India's first Direct Laser Engraving machine . The machine is from DV Optics and is equipped with fiber laser as well as pulse laser, which opens new horizon for endless applications. It can engrave Steel, Ceramic, Copper, Brass, Aluminum, Ebonite and rubber. The machine can handle cylinders with up to 3750 mm length and 600 diameter.

Eight gravure press installations in India

In 2015 the Indian industry invested in eight Bobst gravure printing lines. These machines join a total of 70 existing gravure printing presses from Bobst for flexible materials already installed in India, these being made up of well over 500 individual print units.

According to own statement, the manufacturer has maintained a market share of 70% of all imported Electronic Shaft gravure presses sold and installed in India, and that their market share is as high as 50% of the aggregate sales of both foreign and Indian Electronic Shaft gravure presses.

USD 40 mio investment in packaging project

According to media reports, the International Finance Corporation is lending USD 40 million to the packaging unit of SRF. The company is planning to build a green field BOPET plant in India. This will be a total investment of USD 58 million. The plant will have a capacity of 30,000 tonnes per year and a capacity of metallising 8000 tonnes per year. In total, 200 jobs will be created.
